We have a commercial herd dating back to the 1940's, we started with Hereford and then we added Angus. Our commercial females have proven themselves for many years as great producers. We have sold many commercial bulls that go out and get the job done. They produce calves that grow and heifers that come out ready to be mamas.

Our registered Angus herd has been carefully selected on their maternal traits and growth. We have refined and added through AI and now through ET.

 

But you will see a common theme whether registered or commercial females- they have to be a great mom and have a wonderful disposition. We start calving in January and our cows are handled daily in tight quarters. They need to be calm and great moms. We want our cows to allow the entire family to come out and help, and for them to be easy to handle at your place.

We calve during the coldest part of the year, with temps averaging well below zero. We don't use creep feed, our calves grow on mama's milk. We utilize a strict vaccine program and deworming schedule.
